Visiting With Long-time Friends
9/14/12 - Throughout our lives we keep making new friends & they can be very fulfilling relationships, but no one knows us better than our “old” friends... We had a wonderful visit last weekend in San Diego with 3 friends from NJ who we have known for 30-plus years. Kathi- now living in San Diego, Joanna- who lives in FL but comes to San Diego for a few summer months, & Porter- who still puts up with NJ’s winter weather but was visiting the other two in CA for a bit.
We had a wonderful time catching up on everyone's lives over great food & drink at Bernardo Winery, George's at the Cove & Prado in Balboa Park. We strolled through La Jolla, watching the swimmers & boogie-boarders in the surf at the Cove, then drove up to Mount Soledad War Memorial for a fantastic view of the San Diego area.
Another day we spent at the Japanese Friendship Garden in Balboa Park. It is a small section of the park, but it's packed with beauty & serenity. While there, we could hear the enormous outdoor organ being played. That was pretty cool. It was such a nice few days which we spent relaxing, laughing, just being together.
